Convention Ministry Fair Presentations

The second evening of our 2021 convention was filled with opportunities for everyone to come together virtually and celebrate our life together as a diocese.

More than one hundred members engaged in our Zoom Ministry Fairs. These events were open to everyone in the entire diocese to engage in some of the new and exciting work being done throughout our communities of faith:

• Companion Diocese: The Rev. Deb Goldfeder and the Companion Diocese Committee presented information about the ending of our relationship with the Diocese of Lui in South Sudan and the beginning of our new relationship with the Diocese of Puerto Rico. The Rt. Rev. Rafael Morales, Bishop of Puerto Rico, joined the Zoom discussion.
• Creation Care: The Rev. Kevin McGrane and the Creation Care Ministry Team discussed the three pillars of Creation Care: formation, conservation, and advocacy, and provided concrete examples of how we can promote those important pillars in the Diocese of Missouri.
• Pandemic Evangelism: The Rev. Canon Whitney Rice explored how we can learn lessons from our church history to deal with today’s pandemic challenges in our church communities.
• Strategic Visioning: Consultant Katie Ong, the Rev. Annette Joseph, and Dick Entenmann from Grace Church in Kirkwood presented the results of our year-long Strategic Visioning project and the report’s goals for the next five years.
