Gathering of Religious in the Diocese of Missouri
Saturday, April 10, 2021
4:30 - 6:30 p.m.
Worship followed by an informal virtual gathering.
Host Community: Anglican Order of Preachers
Homily: Br. Mike Malone OP, Holy Cross, Poplar Bluff
Often termed “The New Monastics”, the members are lay and ordained, married or single, are primarily dispersed, live and minister in their respective dioceses and parishes, living under religious promises or vows and a Rule of Life; many also have secular employment. Participants include members of The Society of St. Francis 3rd Order, The Order of St. Francis, The Rivendell Community, The Anglican Order of Preachers (Dominicans), the Daughters of The King, and The Brotherhood of St. Andrew. Evening Prayer will be led by The Anglican Dominicans; the communities rotate in leading worship, sharing the traditions of their orders.
All in the Diocese who are members of religious orders and communities that live under Promises or Vows and follow a Religious Rule of Life are also warmly invited to join these gatherings. Also welcome are any who may be interested in learning more about the various forms of the Religious Life as are expressed within The Episcopal Church and broader Anglican Communion.
For further information please contact Br. Franklin Kline OP.
