Field Trip to Memphis Civil Rights Museum
Saturday, April 13, 2024, 6:00 AM
Join the Diocesan Commission on Dismantling Racism for a daylong field trip to the Memphis Civil Rights Museum, located on the site of Dr. Martin Luther King’s 1968 assassination.
The museum in Memphis, Tennessee, is noted as one of the nation's premier heritage and cultural museums and is steadfast in its mission “to share the culture and lessons from the American Civil Rights Movement and explore how this significant era continues to shape equality and freedom globally.”
And though it will be a long day there and back, the trip promises to be worthwhile and enjoyed in the company of fellow members of the diocese who care about dismantling racism.
The trip is set for Saturday, April 13, 2024, and will depart by bus at 6 a.m. from St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, 110 N. Warson Road, Ladue. The bus will return to St. Peter’s by no later than 9 p.m. the same day.
The cost of the trip does not include meals -- passengers will be responsible for paying for lunch and dinner on their own. There will be stops in Memphis and/or on the return bus ride between Memphis and St. Louis (TBD).
