Feb. 23: Thursday after Ash Wednesday
Read
Luke 9:18–25 | What does it profit them if they gain the whole world, but lose or forfeit themselves?
Pray
Divine Mystery,
your love affair with creation is eternal,
you come to your people as prophets and poets,
as saints and sinners, priests and paupers.
You give us your very self in Jesus the Anointed One;
Overwhelm us in your grace and saturate us in your love,
that we may always be your beloved. Amen.
Reflect
The most precious thing in our world today is time. It is the one thing that no matter how rich and powerful, how poor and powerless we might be, we cannot gain more time. We cannot manufacture, manipulate, or master time. We are subject to the ever-flowing tide of time.
What then do we do with the time that we have been given?
Jesus reminded his disciples that chasing after the vanishing vanities of this world is not living life to its fullness, but rather building ourselves up in love is our time’s goal.
God calls us with the time that we have been given to let our lives be a reflection of being loved and beloved for all time.
Do
Spend some time today doing something that brings you tremendous joy!
