A Journey Through Advent: Friday, Dec. 17, 2021
by Beth Goad,
Episcopal City Mission Director
Today's readings: Psalm 67; Isaiah 56:1-8; John 5:33-36
During Advent, I am reminded that I am very blessed with many family members and friends who love me. My birthday is on Christmas day, which brings another blessing to my life and allows me to reflect during this season on all that I have.
Since joining Episcopal City Mission (ECM) eight years ago, I have seen the hope of Advent shown every day by our Chaplains to the young people that they serve. The Chaplains provide hope and healing through the love of God and by showing His light to these many young people. ECM and its donors show these young people there is good in this world, and they are loved.
I pray that the youth will realize that with hope there is a way to move forward to a better life. May this Advent allow them to start this journey. Remembering that God shall bless us all!
May we all take some time to think about what is truly important and pray for those in need of Hope.
These are my reflections this Advent.
