Your voice matters! Check out several public advocacy events happening this week in the St. Louis area. United Thank Offering offers free online resources to help individuals, families, and groups focus on gratitude throughout November. Community is at the heart of Grace Episcopal Church in Jefferson City. The historic church sits just blocks from the Missouri River and the Missouri capitol building in downtown Jeff City. The church building and the congregation itself both have a strong history of serving their community. The author of “Black and Episcopalian” visited with members of the Commission on Dismantling Racism and others from the Diocese in October. The Episcopal Church Joint Nominating Committee for the Election of the Presiding Bishop invites all Episcopalians to participate in a survey. The responses will help the committee develop a profile of the skills, qualities, and gifts the church seeks in its next presiding bishop, considering what the church and world may look like in the next decade. Figuring out what communications tools are right for your parish is no easy task, but sharing our skills and experiences can help us all do our jobs more effectively and even have a little fun along the way. Bishop Deon Johnson invites leaders from around the Diocese to a retreat at the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet (in South St. Louis City) on February 24 and 25, 2023. The third session of Requiem or Renaissance for COHORT #1 will be Saturday, Oct. 15, 2022, from 9 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. The Diocesan Task Force on Hunger invites food ministries affiliated with an Episcopal congregation within the Diocese of Missouri to submit an application for funding for the 2023 calendar year.
