Notes from the Rev. Teresa Mithen Danieley,
St. Louis Champions Organizer, Missouri Jobs with Justice

  • The best, most up-to-date source for information on voting in Missouri is the Missouri Voter Protection Coalition. Their attorneys are currently arguing before the Missouri Supreme Court about whether or not any voter needs their ballot notarized before sending it in or dropping it off. We should know definitively this week. In the meantime, MO VPC is curating a list of notaries available statewide and MO VPC is also looking for a lot of volunteers statewide to help with Election Protection efforts this fall. They do not have a stand-alone website, but their Facebook Page is https://www.facebook.com/ProtectMissouriVoters
  • The best sources for personalized ballot information is the League of Women Voters' Vote 411 www.vote411.org website. A voter can put in their voting address and see every issue and every candidate who is on their particular ballot, with any information provided directly by candidates or campaigns.
  • Here are 3 toolkits about the No on Amendment 3 Campaign. We believe this amendment would undermine the 2018 vote in which 62% of Missourians voted FOR Amendment 1: Clean Missouri.
  • Here are the Labor in the Pulpits Materials, which includes the guidelines for 501(c)3 participation in ballot initiatives, as well as a video by me, a printable or shareable one-pager, a double-sided bulletin insert (which can be printed well in black and white, even though it is in color on the link) and other resources: http://mojwj.org/labor-in-the-pulpits/

  • Here is a link with the full Workers' Rights Board Report on Amendment 3, from a statewide hearing with expert testimony that was held virtually on June 9, 2020: http://mojwj.org/amdt3report/
A final note from the Rev. Teresa:
I am happy to talk about No on 3 in any congregation through November 1. I am happy to preach/preside, too, but I wouldn't preach about No on 3 specifically.
