Applications available for 2021 New Ventures in Community Ministry Grants
Do you have a dream for a new ministry in your congregation? Now is the time to apply for funding to make that dream a reality.
The New Ventures in Community Ministries Grants aim to inspire congregations to dare great things for God by developing new ministries and visions in response to changing social needs throughout the diocese.
Applications are now available for 2021 grants. These one-year awards will range from $2,500 to $25,000. Money for these grants comes from the Diocesan Outreach Endowment Fund, which was established as a result of the generosity of Missouri Episcopalians through pledges to the Making All Things New Capital Campaign. Its purpose is to challenge congregations to make a difference where they are and to improve the quality of life in and with their communities, to identify pressing social needs and to design strategies to meet those needs.
The New Ventures in Community Ministries Grant Committee was established by the Diocesan Council, with the advice and consent of the Bishop and Diocesan Council. The Grant Committee is responsible for the disposition of the income generated by the Endowment Fund.
The first round of abstracts for these grants must be submitted to the committee by July 24, 2020. Notification and acceptance to the next stage will be sent in early August. Phase II and final submission of the formal application will be due at the end of September, with the bishop announcing the grant awards at Diocesan Convention in November, 2020.
If you have any questions about the grant program or its requirements, please contact Diocesan Council member Liz Yount, who is chairing the NVCM committee this year. She can be reached at 314-374-3079.
