On November 30 and December 1, the Bishop Search and Nominating Committee under the guidance of Search/Transition consultant the Rev. Gary Butterworth and with participation of the diocesan Standing Committee, gathered for a two day retreat at Christ Church Cathedral. After a Commissioning service on Saturday morning where all the members of the search were charged with their work ahead both groups met together.
The purpose of the retreat was to help both groups understand their roles in the search process. After lunch and departure of the Standing committee the Search members worked on relationship building and a detailed understanding of the search process, time lines, and best practices. The Search Committee will meet twice a month as a large group, with other meetings scheduled for subcommittees as needed. We left the retreat energized, enthusiastic, and committed to the journey ahead. This group represents the many voices in our diocese and we are blessed with these volunteers and all the gifts and talents they bring to the process. Please remember us in your prayers.
