Whether you’re a person of faith or not, you’re invited to bring your bike into sacred space! Join us for a brief (yet powerful) blessing of the bikes inside the sanctuary of Trinity Episcopal Church in the Central West End of St. Louis.

  • Begins at 8 am on July 7, 2018 at Trinity Church, 600 N. Euclid in St. Louis, 63108.

Blessed bikes and their riders will receive a sweat-resistant, pocket-sized prayer card featuring an original woodcut image of Madonna del Ghisallo, the patroness of cyclists. The pealing of the church bells after the blessings have been bestowed will signal the beginning of holy rides.

We’ll be offering three different supported routes (6 miles, 25 miles, and 40 miles), thanks to host parishes: All Saints’ and Ascension, Northwoods; Christ Church Cathedral, St. Louis; Episcopal Church of the Holy Communion, University City; St. John’s, Tower Grove; St. Paul’s, Carondelet; St. Peter’s, Ladue. Encouragement, restrooms and refreshments available at each parish until the longest of the rides concludes at 1:30 p.m.

Custom-designed ride t-shirts will be available for purchase before the ride at Trinity for $15.00 each and donations will be gratefully accepted to support next year’s blessing of the bikes.
