December Newtown anniversary and speakers on Gun Violence Prevention

On December 14, Women's Voices Raised for Social Justice gathered at The Heights Community Center in Richmond Heights to commemorate the 5th anniversary of the massacre of children and teachers at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut. 

Speakers included (l-r):  The Very Rev. Kathie Adams-Shepherd, Provost of Christ Church Cathedral in St. Louis and former Rector of Trinity Episcopal Church in Newtown at the time of the shootings; The Rev. Dr. Marc Smith, Bishop's Deputy for Gun Violence Prevention in the Episcopal Diocese of Missouri; and Charles Adams, retired Chief of Police in University City and grandfather of the victim of a gun-related homicide.
