Report to the 177th from Episcopal Campus Ministry-Rockwell House
2016 began in a spirit of joy, as we celebrated our Renewal of Ministry in January. We also celebrated the convening of our newly re-formed advisory council in the spring, which includes students, alumni, clergy, and Episcopal faculty/staff. During our May work week, we camped in at Rockwell and gave the common spaces a fresh coat of paint, and learned about some of the mission work others in the diocese are doing.
This fall brought an uptick in attendance from new students at Wash U and the return of several members from their studies abroad, as well as a new ecumenical small group at SLU. We gathered for house Eucharist and a watch party at SLU while Wash U was hosting the second debate, and have struggled faithfully this semester with the implications our national and civic life have on our faith and church life, and vice versa.
2016-2017 also marks the 20th anniversary of our ministry and the 15th anniversary of Rockwell House’s opening, and we give great thanks for what God has done in those years. We hope you’ll join us this spring as we mark that occasion with prayers, stories, and food!
