Feed The Need Christmas Food Drive
Local parishes are invited to participate and contribute to the “Feed The Need Christmas Food Drive” Program focused on donating Christmas dinners to food pantries in St. Charles County.
The program has been organized through the Trinity St. Charles Smart Choice Food Program. Normally, donations are used at Trinity to purchase food for the local pantry in St Charles County. Due to the success of last year’s program for Ferguson, Missouri (where over 1,500 people received Christmas Dinners), the 2015 program has been expanded to supply food pantries across our region that have requested support for the holiday season.
Parishes that wish to participate are asked to collect donations through Sunday, December 6th in order to ensure that the food can be ordered and delivered prior to Christmas.
Trinity – St. Charles will use donations to purchase Smart Choice Christmas Dinner Boxes for the food pantry. Each box includes: 4.5 lb. Roasting Hen, 3 lbs. Spiral Ham Slices, 3 lbs. Mashed Potatoes, 6 lbs. Heat & Serve Macaroni & Cheese, 24 Ready-to-Bake Buttermilk Biscuits, 2 lbs. Green Beans, 2 lbs. Corn and a Ready-to-Bake Apple Pie. The cost of the box is $35 – a $25 savings over normal grocery store prices.
Based on the food order deadline, participating parishes are asked to do the following:
- Alert Mark Vogel, the program’s director that your parish will be participating. Mark’s email address is: email@example.com.
- Collect donations through Sunday, December 6th. Checks should be made out directly to Trinity Episcopal Church.
- Before December 8th, confirm the amount of donation to Mark Vogel via email so that he can include it in this month’s order.
- Mail your total contribution to Trinity Episcopal Church, 318 S. Duchesne Drive, St. Charles, MO 63301.
Our goal is to ensure that no family in the St. Charles region goes hungry this Christmas. Through the efforts of many volunteers, this program provides good value for the money while ensuring that the participating pantries have the resources to serve those in need for this Christmas.
