Let Freedom Ring
Monday Jan. 21, 10 am-3 pm at Christ Church Cathedral, St. Louis

In honor of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr's birthday, Christ Church Cathedral holds a daylong community reading of his writings and speeches--from the very pulpit where he preached in 1963--so his own words can reenter our consciousness and continue to form us today.

This is the tenth year of this event, and if you've not yet participated, people come and go, some to listen to his words being read, some read. It's a profound experience to hear these words resonate in this space.

Monday, Jan. 21, 10 am-noon, Touhill Center at UMSL

Episcopal City Mission Chaplain Deborah Burris, who is also the Director and Chief Diversity Officer of UMSL's Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, sends this link for registration to "Come and Celebrate King," a morning of inspirational presentations by Bree Newsome, filmmaker, musician and activist; Justin Andrews, KMOV reporter; Brian Owens, soloist and St. Louis Symphony artist in residence; and, the St. Louis Children's Choirs.

Black History Month at University of Missouri-Columbia

Martha Kelly of Dismantling Racism Commission and Calvary Church, Columbia sends this events card with listings from Feb. 1 through March 7.

Quick Poll: The Larger Conversation

This past General Convention in summer of '18 passed over 500 resolutions touching on all parts of our worship and life in ministry as The Episcopal Church.

We're embarking on a monthly webchat, a call and response if you will. One month members of the General Convention Deputation from Missouri will lead us through a topic and its correlate legislation, and the next, we'll explore and connect over existing responses in our communities or parishes, or interest in further discussion among diocesan members.

Ringleaders for this endeavor are Deputation Co-Chairs, Betty Bowersox from Grace Church in Kirkwood and the Rev. Tamsen Whistler, rector of Trinity Church in St. Charles and diocesan communications director Beth Felice.

Take our quick poll and vote for a proposed time/day for the webchat that fits best into your schedule. (They'll also be recorded and stored online at
