newsline

-- from Deborah Nelson Linck, Chair, Search/Nominating Committee. Message sent to all parishes.

There are several stages in the search process for the new bishop. Once the Search/Nominating committee narrows the number of applicants, those remaining are invited to a retreat.

During this continued period of discernment applicants are interviewed and given more information about our diocese. Part of the charge of those planning the retreat is to welcome our prospective candidates.

We'd love your help with presenting our guests with a small swag bag. What better way to get to know a little bit about the Diocese of Missouri than welcoming items from each parish. We are asking for items that you may already have to welcome visitors--book marks, t-shirts, key chains, pencils, postcards, buttons, whatever you'd like to share.

We only need about 7. You may bring your items to the Bishop's office, please label "Attention: Deborah Nelson Linck, Search/Nominating committee" or mail them to the bishop's office in c/o the Search/Nominating committee.

The deadline for receiving items is August 9th. Please help us to show our guests some great Missouri hospitality and learn about the welcoming people of our diocese.

Nominations now being accepted to fill vacancy on The Episcopal Church Executive Council.
