Diocesan Sabbatical Week

Bishop Deon Johnson invites all churches and members of the Diocese of Missouri to take a break from your regular routines and find time to recharge your spiritual batteries during a special Diocesan Sabbatical Week, March 7 - 11, 2022.

The Diocese will be offering special virtual events following a theme for each day. We'll provide opportunities for you to engage in prayer, read and/or watch meditations and reflections, join group discussions, and sign up for one-on-one spiritual direction.* You choose whatever fits into your schedule or fills your spiritual needs.

We've invited leaders from the Society of St. John the Evangelist (SSJE), the Order of St. Helena (OSH), The Episcopal Church, and the Diocese of Missouri to provide our content.

We'll email daily schedules with links to those subscribed to our mailing list (click here to subscribe). Video events will be available on the front page of our website as they are scheduled and on our Facebook page for all to engage at any time. Links will be added to this page for downloads and Zoom events.

*Clergy and lay members are invited to sign up for a one-hour private session with a member from the Society of St. John the Evangelist or the Order of St. Helena. These spiritual direction opportunities are available throughout the week -- first-come, first-served.

Learn More

Approximately 10,000 people throughout Eastern and Central Missouri find their faith home with us. About three-quarters of our members are in the metro St. Louis area, but our diocese reaches much farther than St. Louis. You will find more than 40 Episcopal churches, missions and faith communities as far north as Kirksville, as far west as Columbia, and as far south as Poplar Bluff (and many points in between).

If you are looking for a church home or a just a faith community to visit, we invite you to explore The Episcopal Diocese of Missouri.
