Certification of Lay Delegates
As stated in our Diocesan Constitution and Canons:
Every canonically organized Mission of the Diocese and Parish in union with Convention of this Diocese shall be entitled to be represented in Convention by a minimum of two Lay Delegates. Each Parish and Mission shall be allowed one additional Lay Delegate for every 75 persons in Average Sunday Attendance at such Parish or Mission as reported on its annual Parochial Report for the immediately preceding calendar year. (Article III.3, Sec. 6a)
One of the Wardens or the Secretary of the Vestry or Bishop's Committee shall certify the appointment of a Lay Delegate in writing. The certificate shall be forwarded to the Secretary of Convention at least 30 days before the meeting of Convention. (Canon III.2, Sec. 2)
Please note: In an effort to collect names and contact information for our recent convocation restructuring, we ask all congregations to submit the form below no later than June 6, 2022.
Certify your delegates:
- Download this list to determine the number of delegates for your parish.
Your number is determined by your parochial report (see above). Because of the difficulties in reporting attendance during the pandemic, Bishop Deon Johnson has decided to use numbers from the 181st Convention (pre-pandemic).
- Download and complete this form.
This is a fillable form, so you can type directly onto the pdf, or you can download and print the pdf and fill it out by hand -- whichever you prefer.
- Return the form to Canon Desiree Brattin at [email protected] no later than June 6, 2022.
Please note: You are required to submit an updated form if your delegate list changes before the convention.
If you have questions about this process, please contact Canon Desiree Brattin, Canon for Finance and Administration.
