Saintly Stewardship at Trinity, St. Charles

Trinity Episcopal Church, St. Charles
Trinity Episcopal Church in St. Charles wrapped up its saintly stewardship campaign on All Saints Sunday, Nov. 7, capping a six-week period of weekly "visits" from saints played by children of the parish.
Each saint explained their story and its importance in our daily lives, including Francis of Assisi; Mary, Mother of Jesus; Joseph of Arimathea; Teresa of Calcutta (Mother Teresa); Moses; and Hilda of Whitby.
The campaign focused two Sundays each on Trinity's mission of FAITH (Francis and Mary); COMPASSION (Joseph of Arimathea and Teresa of Calcutta); COMMUNITY (Moses and Hilda of Whitby); and how each of these words guides and strengthens our parish to share in God's mission in the world.
Four of the six saints appeared (again) on All Saints' Sunday to process into the church at the 10:15 a.m. service. They came forward at the Offertory to receive commitment cards from parishioners for time, talent, and treasure. Following the blessing at each service -- as is the custom at Trinity, St. Charles -- the congregation processed to the Memorial Garden and remembered deceased loved ones by planting crosses. After prayers of remembrance and thanksgiving, Deacon Meg Goldstein sent us out of the Garden into the world.
Special thanks to Trinity's young people for teaching us the power of the saints!
