Planting a New African Mission in the Diocese of Missouri
The Diocese of Missouri has received a $30,000 seed grant from the Episcopal Church to plant an African mission in our diocese. Now YOU are invited to be a part of this church planting process!
Mtipe Koggani, a 2020-2021 Deaconess Anne House Corps member and a postulant for priesthood in the Diocese of Missouri, is leading this project. He and a team of eight others have been working with the Office of the Bishop and Christ Church Cathedral on planting an African Diaspora and Allies Missional Community. The main purpose of this new community is to do different missional work to help African diaspora in our diocese.
The plant team is now in the listening stage of the project. Mtipe has created a WhatsApp (phone text) group which will include everyone who is interested in the community. This WhatsApp group will help the team listen and get suggestions as we move forward with the project. The group will also help community members to start to get to know each other.
The plant team is delighted to welcome you to join this community and the WhatsApp group. You can be part of this exciting work by just sending an email showing your interest to any of the following emails of the plant team members:
