Now Hiring: Chaplain for Rockwell House Campus Ministry
Rockwell House is the Episcopal Campus Ministry in St. Louis. While we primarily serve the campuses of Washington University and Saint Louis University, we welcome all local college students as we seek to build a community of Christian disciples. We are seeking a full-time college chaplain, beginning summer 2021.
At Rockwell House, we seek to grow together in faith and friendship with food and fun. Rockwell House provides a hub for worship, pastoral care, fellowship, personal discernment, and service programs for WashU and SLU undergraduate and graduate students. This is one of the most well-supported college chaplain positions in the Episcopal Church, with a growing student community committed to the values of compassion, justice and service, love, community, trustworthiness, and faith.
Rockwell House occupies a physical house, a safe, open, dedicated space less than a block from the main campus of Washington University. The chaplain is a member of the bishop's staff of the Episcopal Diocese of Missouri and reports directly to the bishop. In their capacity as a member of the bishop’s staff, the chaplain will also work, a maximum of ⅕ of their total hours, to support a nascent network of parish-based campus ministry leaders throughout the diocese. Rockwell House has an established relationship with the Episcopal Church of the Holy Communion in University City, and we work together especially in outreach and justice. An advisory committee of alumni and area parish leaders supports the chaplain's work.
Salary: Full-time, commensurate with experience and aligned with diocesan canons and guidelines.
