New Courses for Safe Church, Safe Communities

By Jillian Smith
Executive Assistant to the Bishop and the Canon to the Ordinary

As of Holy Week, 2022, three new modules of our Safe Church, Safe Communities training are available. The new courses are:

  • Pastoral Relationships
  • Inclusion
  • Power and Relationships

These new modules are now live on Praesidium Academy, the online training platform for Safe Church, Safe Communities.

Please check the Diocese of Missouri requirements (found here and on our website) for your role to see if you need to take these newly available courses. Safe Church training is required to be done every three years, so please make sure you are staying up to date with all the required courses!

All new courses will be available by June, according to the National Task Force.

If you have any questions about Safe Church, please contact Jillian Smith.

Approximately 10,000 people throughout Eastern and Central Missouri find their faith home with us. About three-quarters of our members are in the metro St. Louis area, but our diocese reaches much farther than St. Louis. You will find more than 40 Episcopal churches, missions and faith communities as far north as Kirksville, as far west as Columbia, and as far south as Poplar Bluff (and many points in between).

If you are looking for a church home or a just a faith community to visit, we invite you to explore The Episcopal Diocese of Missouri.
