Nearer, my God, to Thee: A Discussion on End of Life Planning

Death can be uncomfortable to talk about and even harder to plan. Yet, we all desire the same thing: A Good and Faithful Death. But what does that look like and how do we plan for it?
St. Timothy's Episcopal Church in Creve Coeur invites you to a four-week discussion of end of life planning with presentations by special guests. All discussion take place in the parish hall at 6 p.m.
Week 1 - Advance Directives
Thursday, Feb. 22 at 6 p.m.
The Rev. Justin Martin is a vocational deacon serving at Christ Church Cathedral in the Diocese of Missouri. Deacon Justin is the Director of Spiritual Care Innovation and Transformation with Mercy and provides strategic leadership to more than 100 chaplains across four states and 14 spiritual care departments/hospitals.
Week 2 - Charitable Bequests
Thursday, Feb. 29 at 6 p.m.
Robert Horton is Senior Wealth Advisor for Mariner Wealth Advisors. Robert provides high net worth individuals and families with comprehensive wealth advice that includes investment management, retirement plan consulting, charitable gifting strategies, business succession, and tax and estate planning to help them reach their goals. Prior to joining Mariner Wealth Advisors, Robert worked for CliftonLarsonAllen, Fidelity Investments and Edward Jones Investments.
Week 3 - Funerary Options
Thursday, March 7 @ 6 p.m.
Jennifer Oliver is the Funeral Director/Certified preplanniing Specialist at Schrader Funeral Home. She joined the staff in 2010, but first started her funeral career at the oldest funeral home in Washington, MO in 1994. Schrader Funeral Home & Crematory has the largest and most experienced staff in West St. Louis County with a combined 200 years of experience in all phases of funeral service. Mandi Barret from Bellerive Gardens Cemetery will also be joining the presentation to discuss their cemetery options.
Week 4 - Burial Office Liturgy
Thursday, March 14 @ 6 p.m.
The Rev. Garron C. Daniels, OCS is the Curate at St. Timothy's Episcopal Church. He will present on the final topic of the four-week course.
