Mission: JOY - The Film
PREPARING FOR JOY THIS ADVENT
Two of the world’s most revered spiritual leaders are uniting one last time to share spiritual wisdom and cut
His Holiness the Dalai Lama and Archbishop Desmond Tutu share their wisdom (and humor) through a laugh-out-loud funny documentary film called Mission: JOY, Finding Happiness in Troubled Times, that is inspired by their international bestseller, The Book of Joy. The film production team includes multiple Academy Award winners and Emmy winners, and is predicted, like the book, to be "the antidote to the times" (Boston Globe). It premiered at Tribeca, and has been featured in 34 film festivals and counting.
We now have the opportunity for congregations and other organizations in our diocese to do screenings of the new documentary about the meeting five years ago between Archbishop Desmond Tutu and the Dalai Lama. You may already be familiar with The Book of Joy, which emerged from their time together, but here you actually see them interacting in profound and often playful ways.
Watch the trailer:
The film is offered FREE OF CHARGE to faith communities and other groups in order to help further the Archbishop's and His Holiness's goal of making the film and its messages available to as many people around the world as possible, without regard to ability to pay.
To host a screening for your congregation, simply sign up HERE (it takes 3 minutes) or email [email protected]
Please note: If you are planning a screening within the Diocese of Missouri, please let the Bishop's office know so we can share your event with the rest of the Diocese.
