March 23: Thursday in the Fourth Week of Lent
Read
Psalm 106 | They forgot God their Savior, who had done great things in Egypt, wonderful deeds in the land of Ham, and fearful things at the Red Sea.
Pray
Blessed be the struggles,
the setbacks, the failures
that have driven you to your knees
and helped you discover the courage to stand,
when all else conspired to keep you down.
May you know that in the hurt,
resides the power of healing and wholeness.
May you hear in the rejection,
the still small voice of hope to try again.
May you find that in the “not enough”,
slumbers God’s deep call of “beloved.”
May you hear in the chorus of “cannot,”
the message of the angels, “fear not.”
May you discern in the wandering, the blessing of wonder.
May you behold the hand of the Almighty guiding you to new journeys and along right paths. Amen.
Reflect
We need not forget.
As we age our memory begins to fade. We start to lose track of little details, things begin to feel fuzzy. We forget. It is natural to forget. To let go of the minor little things that at the time seemed so important, so pressing.
As people of faith we too can forget. We forget that God’s goodness and grace are always with us even when we may not feel it, see it, or experience it. We may forget but God never forgets us. Thanks be to God.
Do
Begin a journal. Capture the beautiful memories of the day.
