Love Yourself as Your Neighbor: A virtual retreat for those in ministry

Sunday, January 29, 2023, 1:00 PM

(posted Jan. 5, 2023)

On this retreat, you will be invited to pray on your own each day and meet one-on-one with a trained spiritual companion one hour each week for four consecutive weeks. All meetings will be virtual (Zoom or via phone if you prefer). Weekly meeting times will be set around your schedule. The retreat starts and ends with a 90-minute group gathering on January 29 and February 26, respectively.

This retreat will be personalized to what you are hoping for, whether that is to make more time for prayer, to learn new ways to pray, to pray about a certain issue in your life, deepen your personal relationship with Jesus, or to receive whatever God is offering to you at this time. During the weekly sessions, your spiritual companion will listen with love and affirmation, offer questions that will lead you deeper into your prayer experiences and make prayer suggestions for the coming week.

The intended participants are those in formal ministry (e.g. priests, nuns, chaplains, spiritual directors, youth ministers, etc.) as well as those in informal ministry (e.g. care givers, parents, volunteers, etc.). However, everyone is welcome to participate in this retreat, no exceptions. This retreat is being offered free of charge although donations of any amount are accepted ($55 is suggested).

This retreat is being conducted by Moments of Grace + Prayer, an independent, ecumenical ministry celebrating 27 years of helping others come to experience God’s Love more deeply.

For more information, visit www.momentsofgraceandprayer.org and to register contact Clarence Heller at [email protected] or 314.258.9066.

We believe in a loving, life-giving and liberating God: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We believe God loves you -- no exceptions!

We invite you to be a part of our faith journey.

The Rt. Rev. Deon K. Johnson is the leader of our diocese. He was elected as our bishop on Nov. 23, 2019, and ordained on June 13, 2020, at Christ Church Cathedral in St. Louis.

Approximately 10,000 people throughout Eastern and Central Missouri find their faith home with us. About three-quarters of our members are in the metro St. Louis area, but our diocese reaches much farther than St. Louis. You will find more than 40 Episcopal churches, missions and faith communities as far north as Kirksville, as far west as Columbia, and as far south as Poplar Bluff (and many points in between).

If you are looking for a church home or a just a faith community to visit, we invite you to explore The Episcopal Diocese of Missouri.
