Gun Violence Prevention: A Call to Action
by the Rev. Mary Haggerty,
Diocesan Missioner for Gun Violence Prevention
March 21, 2023
As reasonable gun laws have been eroded in Missouri, the rate of gun deaths has increased 70% from 2011 to 2020, compared to a 33% increase nationwide. Missouri has some of the weakest gun laws in the country and we have the 7th highest rate of gun deaths in the United States (Everytown.org, 2023).
The gun violence epidemic calls for our faithful response. If you are interested in taking action toward decreasing gun violence in Missouri, please fill out the form below or contact the Rev. Mary Haggerty, Diocesan Missioner for Gun Violence Prevention at [email protected].
We are gathering Episcopalians across the Diocese to respond to legislative issues, provide education, and pray together. If you are interested in adding your voice to the urgent need for safety in our communities, please sign up below to receive alerts and calls to action.
The information you provide in this form will not be shared with anyone outside the Diocese of Missouri.
