GC80 Deputy Update: The Rev. Todd McDowell - July 10

Sunday began with a celebration of the Holy Eucharist, which is always a highlight of our convention. The Celebrant was my seminary professor for Liturgy, Ruth Meyers. The preacher, Maryland Bishop Eugene Sutton, reminded us that building walls never succeeds. They always come tumbling down!
The third legislation day was again three full session: morning, afternoon, and evening. We started at 8:30 a.m. and ended at 9:30 p.m., with lunch and dinner breaks. This is a very unusual schedule as the entire convention was reduced to four days due to COVID concerns.
Through it all, your deputation has stayed committed, and ready to take on our final day here in Baltimore.
