Diocese Launches African Church Plant
The Episcopal Diocese of Missouri welcomes Grace African Christians Connection as our newest missional community!
The Rt. Rev. Deon K. Johnson, Bishop of Missouri, and the Rev. Mtipe Koggani, transitional deacon, officially launched this new faith community Sunday, Oct. 23 at Christ Church Cathedral in St. Louis. People from throughout the Diocese and the community came to the celebration service, which was filled with music, dancing, and prayers.
This new community is expected to officially become a mission of the Diocese at our annual convention in November. Church planter Mtipe Koggani says they are planning to hold services once a month at the Cathedral. Mtipe sends this note of gratitude:
"The Leadership team, and members of GRACE AFRICAN CHRISTIANS CONNECTION (Formerly known as AFRICAN DIASPORA AND ALLIES MISSIONAL COMMUNITY), would like to thank all our friends across the Diocese and beyond for celebrating with us, in-person and virtually the launching of this New Missional Community in our Diocese. The launching came with the New Community Name, “GRACE AFRICAN CHRISTIANS CONNECTION” which we will be using going forward.
"Ahsanteni sana – Thank you very much."
