Diocesan Softball Tournament 2021
Eight softball teams from Episcopal parishes throughout the St. Louis metro area came together for a weekend of sporting fun at the second annual (except for 2020) Diocesan Softball Tournament, June 18 and 19 in Tower Grove Park.
The tournament was organized by the Rev. Jon Stratton, Rector at Trinity Episcopal Church in the Central West End of St. Louis. Participating teams included:
- St. Michael and St. George
- Holy Communion
- Trinity, CWE / St. Louis
- St. John's, Tower Grove / St. Louis
- Grace, Kirkwood
- St. Peter's, Ladue
- Emmanuel/Faith Christian Church of India, Webster Groves/Ballwin
- Christ Church Cathedral, St. Louis
All the teams played on Friday evening, with the winners of those games forming Division A and the losers forming Division F (F for fun, of course). The games continued on Saturday to determine the winners from both divisions.
Congratulations to:
- Division A Winners: The Church of St. Michael & St. George, Clayton
- Division F Winners: Holy Communion, University City
Despite the heat advisories (in 2019 and 2021), Fr. Jon Stratton says everyone had a great time. Although only one team can walk away with the bragging rights, Fr. Jon says fun definitely outweighed any sense of competitiveness both years.
