Learn about the work of reconciliation and justice being done in our diocese and what direct actions we can take to promote this work.
God's call to reconciliation and justice is seen most profoundly in the ministry of Jesus Christ. Jesus sought to bridge divisions that fracture the Body of Christ. By engaging intentionally in the work of racial reconciliation, we continue the work of seeking to love God, neighbor, and self.
Episcopal Church Women (ECW) members who took our recent survey voted Social Justice as the topic they most want to explore. Come find out more about this important ministry and your role in it.
Remember: All women in our diocese are automatically members of ECW. We joyfully welcome you to participate in events at the parish and diocesan level.
Sometimes it is difficult to get away directly at 6 p.m. We understand -- join us when you can.
About our Speaker:
In addition to her role as Missioner for Racial Reconciliation and Justice, the Rev. Shug Goodlow serves as assistant rector of St. Martin's Episcopal Church in Ellisville. Before being ordained, she was a licensed preacher and member of Christ Church Cathedral for more than 25 years, where she served as head verger. She has served in many parish and diocesan leadership positions, including president of the Union of Black Episcopalians, deputy to General Convention, Diocesan Council, Standing Committee, and the Dismantling Racism Commission. She has been a self-proclaimed social activist since her aunt and uncle took her to the March on Washington in 1963. She lives in Kirkwood with her wife Doris Lucy-Goodlow.
