This reflection is part of a series celebrating women in ministry, June 2022.
Women’s ministries have expanded over the last 30 years from supporting and token roles to leadership positions at all levels of the church. Women have been given an equal place in the church with opportunities to create new ministries. Many of those ministries not only serve the church but the world at large.
As a woman in ministry, one of the stories that most resonates with me, is the story of The Woman At The Well. Although I do not share the same social status as the woman in the story, I am reminded of the lessons we can learn from the Woman At The Well. Jesus is the living water and the only one who can satisfy the voids in our lives. Jesus accepts us exactly as we are, as no sin is too great for his love. We are called to follow Jesus and to share that love with everyone we meet.
