Community of Hope Training

Thursday, September 7, 2023, 6:00 PM

by Sandra Vuitel,
The Episcopal Church of St. Michael & St. George, Clayton

The Community of Hope group at St. Michael and St. George in Clayton is looking for anyone interested in training as a Community of Hope lay visitor. This vital ministry provides pastoral care to those in hospitals, rehab, senior living facilities, private homes, etc.

The training class, 16 weeks, begins September 7, 2023. The class, scheduled for Thursday evenings from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. at St. Michael and St. George Episcopal Church, is open to all faiths.

Interested? Please contact Sandra Vuitel @ 314-300-8858 or [email protected]. Registration deadline is August 1.

The Community of Hope (CoH) is “a school for God’s service” (Prologue, Rule of Benedict). The mission of CoH is to help create and sustain Christian communities of volunteer lay pastoral caregivers united in prayer, shaped by Benedictine spirituality, and equipped for and serving in pastoral care ministries. All in the diocese are welcome to engage in this ministry.

Approximately 10,000 people throughout Eastern and Central Missouri find their faith home with us. About three-quarters of our members are in the metro St. Louis area, but our diocese reaches much farther than St. Louis. You will find more than 40 Episcopal churches, missions and faith communities as far north as Kirksville, as far west as Columbia, and as far south as Poplar Bluff (and many points in between).

If you are looking for a church home or a just a faith community to visit, we invite you to explore The Episcopal Diocese of Missouri.
