The Diocesan Dismantling Racism Commission invites all to attend this annual event to celebrate the life of Absalom Jones, the first black priest in the Episcopal Church.
Bishop Deon Johnson and special guest preacher Bishop Gayle Harris from the Diocese of Massachusetts will lead a special liturgy in honor of the first African American priest in the Episcopal Church. The service will be streamed on the diocesan website, Facebook and YouTube.
Following the service, you are invited to gather on Zoom to discuss Bishop Harris' sermon and how we can continue to follow the example of Absalom Jones.
