Addiction and Women
Thursday, March 30, 2023, 12:00 PM
Episcopal Recovery Ministries Committee in the Diocese of Missouri recommends the following webinar for women and women's groups in our diocese:
When it comes to addiction and treatment, one size does not fit all. Women often face a unique set of challenges, a history of trauma, and barriers to effective treatment.
Join Caroline Beidler, recovery advocate, founder of Bright Story Shine, and the author of Downstairs Church: Finding Hope in the Grit of Addiction and Trauma Recovery, as she shares her personal journey and lessons she's learned along the way in creating space for women in recovery. We'll discuss some of the historical challenges women have faced as well as important principles to keep in mind when developing outreach and programming to support women.
Caroline will be joined by Pastor Ed Treat & CAF Board member Timothy McMahan King, author of Addiction Nation: What the Opioid Crisis Reveals About Us, in this webinar. The event is hosted by The Center of Addiction and Faith
