Camp Phoenix needs to fill a few staff openings for our 2008 camp season (July 27 – Aug 2). We will have 18 to 20 returning staff plus three campers moving up to staff positions. There is a lot of friendly and experienced staff available to help new staff adjust to life at Camp Phoenix.In order of importance volunteer needs include: - Boys village night monitor – This position requires a male age 18+.The position is a paid position to receive $500.00 for 6 nights work.Hours are from 11 PM to 6AM Sun through Friday nights.Duties include monitoring boy’s cabins in a rustic area.A screened porch complete with table and electricity are provided as the “office area".
- Cabin Counselor – One male and one female volunteer preferably age 18+.Duties include living and having fun with campers in the 13 – 15 age groups.Volunteers will live and sleep in cabins with up to 8 campers.Daily breaks will be provided.
- Relief Counselor – Two to three male and female with an age of 16+.These positions require presence with a group generally during activity periods to provide any needed assistance to DuBois center program staff.Applicants will not be required to teach outdoor skills nor will they be required to sleep in cabins with the campers.Considerable free time will be available to relax and explore the DuBois Center.
