Church of St. Michael & St. George Sponsors Speaker on Teen Abstinence on November 12, 2008 - 7:00pm - 8:30pm

Make plans to hear Meg Rice as she discusses how we can make a difference in the lives of our teenagers by giving them the tools they need to navigate a world that says that "anything goes!" Meg is a Christian mom in Houston, Texas who developed a Christian based abstinence course for teenagers and their parents 15 years ago. This program is Biblically based and addresses the teens' needs where they are. It's time for parents and the church to stand up and make a stand...Sex, God & Me will help you accomplish this. Join us for coffee and dessert on Wednesday, November 12th from 7:00 - 8:30 pm at The Church of St. Michael and St. George. RSVP to Heidi at heidi@csmsg.org. Friends are welcome!! Cost is $10.

About Happening

HAPPENING is a weekend coming in the Spring of 2009, about discovering Christianity in a whole new way. It is designed and led by teenagers and offered to teenagers. Teens get together for a weekend to talk about the reality of faith in their lives, and share with each other what it means for them to be part of a Christian community. Happening specifically aims to encourage faith and leadership in young people by creating an environment where teens lead one another in sharing their stories of faith, and deepening their discipleship. Throughout the retreat, participants will have the chance to pray, play, and praise, all led by a team of youth and supportive adults. All youth in grades 9-12 are invited to participate. And we've created a special, fun website just for this event! Give it a look right now!

About Camp Phoenix (CP)

Camp Phoenix is located on 240 wooded acres near Nashville, IL. Boys and girls live in separate villages within the camp, and share in activities and meals. Campers swim, ride horses, hike, canoe, and participate in crafts, archery, and an outdoor adventure course. Each day includes a joyful spiritual connection to our Episcopal faith.
Camp Phoenix is led by a camp director and a clergy spiritual director. Assisting them are trained professional staff and volunteers who care for each child and the whole camp family.
At Camp Phoenix, there's always something new to try…a walk in the woods… the campfire’s glow…the joy of God’s creation.
