How do we faithfully follow Jesus? Disciples are created when people respond obediently to Jesus' invitation to "Follow Me." This following is lifelong, surprising, and sacrificial. Following Jesus becomes the shape and direction of our lives. As such, the following is constituted by a variety of habits and attitudes. Where do we learn these habits and attitudes of discipleship? - Gathering for Worship
- Listening to Scripture
- Confessing a common faith
- Praying for ourselves and for others
- Confessing our sins, receiving forgiveness, and sharing the peace of Christ
- Offering Ourselves
- Remembering Jesus
- Living by the Spirit
- Taking communion into the world
Many of us long to know more about being Christian, and following Jesus. But we haven't been able to find an Episcopal adult class that is provocative and engaging on any regular basis. This program is for anyone who wishes to learn and grow in the Eucharistic life of being a disciple of Jesus.
This program meets in 3 locations with the next academic term beginning in September 2007. - Grace Episcopal Church, Kirkwood, MO
