The ERM is dedicated to helping Episcopalians and Evangelical Lutherans suffering from addictions into recovery. The Committee is a group of clergy and lay volunteers appointed by the Bishop. Each of these people has had personal experience with addiction and recovery, and is an active member of the ELCA or Episcopal Church.

The mission of this committee is to provide recovery resources through the ELCA and Episcopal Church to people and their families suffering from addiction. We currently do this three ways:

  1. Education Seminars. We provide speakers and workshops for clergy to learn more about various addictions. Our speakers are regarded as being the best in their chosen field. Our Addictions Education Day, held each year in May, is going into its fourth year.
  2. Articles. We author and co-author articles of interest to clergy about addictions and the people who suffer from them.
  3. This website page.
