Global Mission-WUECM

Supporting our students in pilgrimages to work with our global partners has long been a part of the ECM community. We believe in empowering our students to be global Christians -- connected with our partners around the world and aware of how our actions here in America affect deeply people in lands far away.

In addition to countless study abroad opportunities through Washington University, our students have traveled extensively in the developing world, both independently and using the fellowship of the worldwide Anglican Communion.

ECM students have traveled to Ghana, Tanzania, Haiti, Nicaragua, Kenya, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Sudan and elsewhere, and have been involved as visitors to our companion Diocese of Lui in Sudan, when that relationship was in its formative stages.

WUECM - Reynolds-Mike-Lui:
Mike Kinman and Reynolds Whalen (ECM '08) in front of their tukal in Lui, Sudan in April, 2005. They were part of a seven-member delegation from the Diocese of Missouri that also included Emily Bloemker (ECM '05) and Bishop George Wayne Smith that traveled to Lui to lay the foundation for a companion relationship.

Wash. U - ECM also has a designated grant program to help support students who wish to do work in other countries, the Julia Fund.
