Church of the Good Shepherd is seeking an Organist

The Episcopal Church of Good Shepherd, St. Louis is seeking a skilled and enthusiastic organist/choir director to lead the musical element of our worship. This is a part-time position, requiring approximately 10 hours per week.

We are a growing and welcoming church community that values the importance of music as an integral part of our worship.

The ideal candidate will be a skilled organist with some experience or training in leading and working with a choir. Experience with the liturgy and related music is preferred, but we are willing to work with a creative and talented musician who has an appreciation for liturgical music (simple and complex) and a willingness to learn.

Primary responsibilities include, playing for the 10:00 a.m. Sunday service and occasional special services during the year, leading weekly choir rehearsals, choosing liturgically appropriate hymns and service music, and working collaboratively with the choir and Pastor. We have a Moller 1983 2 manuals 13 ranks organ.

Come join our church community, strengthening our spirituality with the gift of music!
