Request from the Rev. Teresa Mithen for Participation in MORCRC Dinner, Honorees including the Very Rev. Michael Allen and the Rev. Canon Priscilla Allen
As many of you know, I (Teresa Mithen) represent the Episcopal Diocese of Missouri on the Board of the Missouri Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice, which advocates for religious freedom and for keeping contraception accessible in Missouri. Yes folks, keeping contraception LEGAL and accessible in Missouri is the actual battleground! (Abortion is all but illegal in MO already, although, in keeping with the national Episcopal Church's beliefs about abortion, MORCRC does believe that abortion should be safe, legal, and rare.) See www.morcrc.org for more information At this year's Faith & Freedom Awards, MORCRC will be honoring many heroes of Faith and Freedom on Sunday, April 6, including the Very Rev. Michael Allen and the Rev. Canon Priscilla Allen, who served at Christ Church Cathedral for so many years. I have attached the Save the Date! card for your convenience. This year, Faith & Freedom will take place at Orlando Gardens on Watson Road on Sunday, April 6. Cocktails and dessert auction start at 6:00 p.m. Dinner is at 7:00 p.m. Save the Date I have committed to filling a table of ten. Each ticket is $60, although I would be willing to take $50 for a ticket and put in the other $10 myself. I believe so strongly in the work of the MORCRC that I am willing to subsidize tickets for those who need a discount.
