The Episcopal Church Women includes the women of the Diocese of Missouri.
On behalf of the nominating committee chairman, Lana Maggart, the following people have consented to place their name for nomination to serve on the Diocese of Missouri Episcopal Church Women Board. The election and installation will be held during the business meeting at the Annual Meeting and Conference on Saturday, October 24, 2009 (registration deadline Oct. 16, brochure below) at St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church in Creve Coeur. Please join us and celebrate another year of mission.

ECW Annual Meeting
Girl’s Night Out is the gathering the evening before ECW’s annual meeting. This year will include dinner at Amici’s Italian Restaurant in Kirkwood followed by a jazz concert with the Carolbeth True Trio at Grace Church Kirkwood.
The meeting on Saturday will be at St. Timothy’s in Creve Coeur. The day begins with registration at 8:45. Bishop Wayne Smith will preach at the morning worship service.
The keynote address is from St. Tim’s new associate rector, the Rev. Emily Bloemker, who will speak about her observations as both a lay and clergy missioner in “Growing up Female, the Lives of Women and Girls in Lui, Sudan.” Lunch is followed by workshops then a business meeting.
More information and registration forms for both Girl’s Night Out and the ECW Annual Meeting are available online, and also in each parish and mission of the diocese.

This Third Tuesday Tech session is devoted to building a great looking, well designed website using some amazing online tools.
Cost for software=$0.
Cost for web hosting=$0.
Time for development=minimal.
Is there any excuse not to have an online presence?
We’ll explore two options: Weebly and Wordpress. Both offer built in blogging tools, regular (static) web pages, and attractive designs.
And it really is simple. When experimenting with weebly, we constructed a site in ten minutes.
Join us at 6:30, June 16, for two hours at St Mark’s in St. Louis, 4714 Clifton Ave. We’ll spend the first 30 minutes with a presentation on basic web architecture, and then build a site in each of these applications.

This is a new monthly series open to all in our diocesan community. Part workshop, part collaboration, but mostly hands-on exploration of one new technology each session. Bring a laptop that is wifi enabled, and be prepared to create that evening’s subject, successfully! The Rev. We are gathering the whole ESM community to celebrate and renew the School’s vocation and vision. We will reflect on: What does it mean to be a School of Ministry? How do we make disciples of Jesus? How do we equip the baptized for all the ministries of the church?

A long-standing practice in the Christian tradition is that of making a retreat. A retreat in the traditional sense is an opportunity to step away from the busyness of life into a time and space of quiet, prayer and reflection. In the stillness of this time away, the hope is that we will be able to open ourselves to God’s presence and love in a special way. There are retreat centers of many different denominations across the country that offer individuals the chance to get away for a period of time. However, for many of us, making a week-long, weekend or even a one-day retreat is not an option because of our crowded schedules and numerous commitments. (more…)
