Upcoming diocesan required training

An updated (as of 6/30/2010) Chart of Standards and Required Training for the diocese is now available online.

Dismantling Racism

Fourteen hours of training in Dismantling Racism is facilitated by the diocesan commission on two consecutive days, one or more times a year. Earlier this spring, a training was held in Columbia. The last scheduled training for 2010 in this diocese is Friday, July 9, and Saturday, July 10. This workshop will be held at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Ladue. (more…)

Thursday, Jan 8, 2009, at 11:30 at Christ Church Cathedral.
This meeting is open to all Christian formation leaders — paid, volunteer, clergy, etc…. Bring your own lunch. Meetings are planned once a month.

Safeguarding God’s Children Workshops 2009

November 8, 2008, Offerings of Safeguarding God’s Children Workshops

Have you attended a workshop for the prevention of child sexual abuse? This is a required workshop for clergy, church employees, and volunteers who regularly supervise youth activities and is strongly recommended for Vestry members, Sunday school teachers, and others. Parents might also find it very useful. It is based on recently-updated materials from the Church Pension Group program “Safeguarding God’s Children.” (more…)

Missouri and Lui, Sudan — What Can Your Congregation Do to Become Involved?

Companion Diocese Training Days help your congregations learn about the Millennium Development Goals, and how to become involved with our companion Diocese of Lui in Sudan. (Just look at the event St. Martin’s, Ellisville has created to respond to the MDGs.)

Bring a team from your congregation to one or two training days:

9 a.m. – 3 p.m. Saturday, May 17th (The April 5th day has been cancelled although Grace, Jefferson City will host the Companion Diocese Committee and feature several speakers on Sunday, April 6th)

Formerly Vicar of Holy Family, Half Moon Bay, CA & Jim Sims, musician, song writer and artist, music therapist who has served on the Liturgical Commission for the Diocese of East Carolina for 15 years, and serves on the Board of Directors of Children at Worship-Congregations in Bloom.
