Groundbreaking for new All Saints Episcopal in Farmington

Sunday, November 11th, 2007

In the Liturgical calendar, November First is the Feast Day

of All Saints. It was a beautiful and fitting day for the Congregation

and friends of All Saints, Farmington to celebrate Ground Breaking

for their new property and church building, according to Dale Iffrig.

The site is located on the West side of Black Knight Drive

at it’s intersection with Columbia.

The Bishop of Eastern Missouri, Rt. Rev. George Wayne

Smith, presided over the ceremony and turned the first shovel of

Earth. All Saints’ pastor, Dr. Peter Van Horne turned the second.

Members of the Congregation read, in turn, a Psalm and

a reading from the book of Genesis, chapter 28. The Genesis

reading includes these words : “Surely the Lord is in this place,

and I did not know it!” “How awesome is this place! This is none

other than the house of God, and this is the gate of heaven.”

All Saints Congregation,continues to welcome:

“All of God’s people”, at our old and later, at our new building.
