Christian Education Event: Worship for All God’s Children

Rev. Caroline Fairless, Director of Children at Worship-Congregations in Bloom, has served for 10 years on liturgical design teams for national and diocesan conferences. Formerly Vicar of Holy Family, Half Moon Bay, CA & Jim Sims, musician, song writer and artist, music therapist who has served on the Liturgical Commission for the Diocese of East Carolina for 15 years, and serves on the Board of Directors of Children at Worship-Congregations in Bloom.

Clergy Day December 4th features Deacon Ormonde Plater

Ormonde Plater, a deacon in the Episcopal Church who has been a columnist, writer, editor, college English teacher, liturgical scholar, former editor of Diakoneo, will be our guest speaker beginning at 10 a.m. Tuesday, December 4th, at Christ Church Cathedral, and adjourning by 3 p.m.

Episcopal School for Ministry’s Congregational Studies Weekend, 2007

ESM weekend update…drop in to hear about their Congregational Studies curriculum, and to experience featured speaker, Canon to the Ordinary of the Diocese of Missouri, the Rev. Dan Smith who is presenting on Leadership. $100.

Friday evening prayer begins at 6 p.m., followed by a 7-9 p.m. session on Congregational Studies, ending with Compline at 9:15. Saturday, morning prayer begins at 7:45 a.m. followed by 8 a.m. Breakfast, 9-11 a.m. session, 11:15 Eucharist, Lunch then a final session from 1-3 p.m. For details contact choehn@diocesemo.org.

Diocesan Teacher Training Day August 18 2007

St. Martin’s Episcopal Church in Ellisville will host the Diocesan Teacher Training Day on Saturday, August 18th. The day will include a block of time for curriculum overview, including but not limited to the Episcopal Children’s Curriculum, Living the Good News, Godly Play, Beulah Land, and the Journey to Adulthood. There will also be a sesion each for art responses and classroom management issues, including how to navigate gifted students, bullies, and those with learning disabilities. Further featured: a block of time devoted to children, youth and worship,and a discussion of ways to get parents more committed to participation for their children and themselves. Church teams will have time to meet together over lunch to go over their own calendars, class assignments, substitute lists, emergency exits, etc.
