Befriending Women in the Bible: Lessons in Living, Loving, and Serving (2009)

A day-long retreat, Saturday, October 17, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
at St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church, 1551 Bennett, Warson Woods.

One of the great blessings of being a woman is the close relationships we
develop with God and other women. Our sisters of long ago have lessons to teach us today. Join us for a relaxing, fun, and Spirit-filled day of
reflection, prayer, and fellowship as we learn from the
foremothers of our faith. In meditation, reflection, and small groups we will explore the relationships between God and women of the Bible. (more…)

Emmy nominated Traces of the Trade screenings and Discussion with filmmaker Katrina Browne (2009)

Friday September 18 at 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. join us for a special screening of Traces of the Trade: A Story from the Deep North at the Missouri History Museum in St. Louis’  Forest Park. This film was nominated for a News and Documentary Emmy last Wednesday. Filmmaker Katrina Browne will be in attendance, and will hold a conversation with the audience after each showing.

The Episcopal Diocese of Missouri and our Commission on Dismantling Racism is sponsoring this event in partnership with the Missouri History Museum. (more…)

Listening Sessions with our Deputation before General Convention have been arranged (2009)

What is a listening session? It is you and your voice, your observations and concerns and questions. And a chance for the Missouri deputation to listen, and also to share some of the nuts and bolts of convention process and the Blue Book contents and expected resolutions. Each session will have several members of the deputation in addition to a facilitator.

St. Stephen’s offers Movie Series based on the book “Faith and Film” by Bryan Stone, Sundays at 5 pm. (2009)

Faith and Film: Theological Themes at the Movies is a new monthly movie series on the first Sunday of the month, with “with popcorn and pizza, friends and fellowship.”

Using discussion and the book Faith and Film by Bryan P. Stone, Professor of Evangelism at Boston University School of Theology,  St. Stephen’s will explore the Apostles’ Creed through association with popular films. (more…)
