Bart Ehrman at St. Peter’s-Ladue, April 23 & 24

Controversial and bestselling author Bart D. Ehrman, Ph.D., is this year’s lecturer at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, Ladue, for the Rev. Dr. Clifford L. Stanley Lecture Series. Writing in the areas of  New Testament and Early Christianity, he has written or edited twenty-three books, numerous scholarly articles, and dozens of book reviews. Dr. Ehrman is the  James A. Gray Distinguished Professor at the Department of Religious Studies, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Environmental Ethics—for God’s Sake! How Practical Stategies and Theology Intersect is the title of the 2009 Pfautch Lectures held at Second Presbyterian Church in St. Louis’ Central West End.  St. Peter’s Church, Ladue, and the Missouri Botanical Garden join in hosting the 2009 Lectures.

An Opportunity to Participate in a U.S. Premiere, St. Peter’s-Ladue, 3/8 (2009)

This Sunday at 5:00 p.m., the St. Peter’s Choir, Soloists, and chamber orchestra invite you to the premiere of music by Gottfried August Homilius (1714-1785). This special performance of the Johannespassion includes several chorales; music will be distributed and the audience will be invited to sing along with the choir in these chorales (hymn tunes). S. St Benedict’s Rule at the St Louis International Film Festival, Nov. 15 (2008)

Jay Kanzler, Assistant Priest at St Peter’s-Ladue, notes the premiere of his documentary film, “St. Benedict’s Rule,” which will be shown on Saturday November 15, 2008, at 5:00 p.m. in Moore Auditorium at Webster University, as part of the St. Louis International Film Festival.

Kirkin’ of the Tartans, St. Peter’s-Ladue, Nov. 9

Continuing a parish tradition, the St Louis Caledonian Pipe Band will join the Choir, Congregation, and Clergy during the 10:30 am Order for Morning Prayer.

The Service will include the History of the Kirkin’, the Roll Call of the Clans, and the Reading of “The Tartan.”
