On Saturday, October 10, at 6:30 pm, St. Stephen’s, Ferguson will host a Eat in 2 Help Out, a program developed by Episcopalians for Global Reconciliation to support the Millennium Development Goals.
Instead of eating out, a group gathers for a shared meal and contributes what would have been spent to a ministry that supports these goals.
St. Stephen’s goal is to provide microfinancing to promote a sustainable community in the region of Morogoro, Tanzania. The Rev. Dennis Mnyanyi, who assisted at St. Stephen’s for two years, is from the Diocese of Morogoro. St. Stephen’s parish hopes to arrange a virtual way to share fellowship and parish news with Mnyanyi during the dinner. Some of the specific needs Mnyanyi has identified are: loans or grants to run sustainable businesses, training residents in how to run businesses and in prevention of diseases such as malaria and HIV, and emergency help to farmers surviving drought conditions.
Please join St. Stephen’s and bring some simple food to share and whatever monetary contribution you can make.
