Wednesday’s Convention Daily (2009)

New this year, everyone has access to The Daily, Episcopal Life Media’s printed convention news available to everyone in Anaheim.

Click http://ecusa.anglican.org/episcopal_life.htm and follow the Ubuntu logo to the day’s daily.

Wednesday’s edition includes:

  • Presiding Bishop Katharine Jefferts Schori’s Address to convention: Reject “business as usual.” The economic crises underlies “all the
conversation and debate. That we do not have the same kind of financial resources to address them as we had three years ago – that is another kind of crisis both local and global,” she said. But, amid laughter, she added: “However this is not a TSA announcement that the threat level has risen from orange to red … (but) a Gospel announcement that … our mission is to keep traveling bearing the good news of Jesus and working to transform the world.”
  • House of Deputies President Bonnie Anderson relates the story of her path to the Episcopal Church
  • Archbishop of Canterbury Rowan Williams, in his first visit to a General Convention, arrives in Anaheim.
  • Crafting a budget: The Program, Budget and Finance committee works on the triennial budget.
  • PERSPECTIVAS LATINAS: Comité de Evangelismo llama audiencia
  • para la Visión Estratégica.
  • TRIENIAL TODAY: Episcopal Church Women lead prayer walk through convention center.
