At our baptism, we make a promise to continue on a lifelong path of spiritual formation into the image of Christ.
Holy Baptism is full initiation by water and the Holy Spirit into Christ's Body the Church. The bond which God establishes in Baptism is indissoluble.
During Baptism of children we ask of parents and godparents, Will you be responsible for seeing that the child you present is brought up in the Christian faith and life?
At every Baptism and on other occasions we renew our own Baptismal Covenant; our beliefs and our responsibilities
Will you continue in the apostles' teaching and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in the prayers?
Will you persevere in resisting evil, and, whenever you fall into sin, repent and return to the Lord?
Will you proclaim by word and example the Good News of God in Christ?
Will you seek and serve Christ in all persons, loving your neighbor as yourself?
Will you strive for justice and peace among all people, and respect the dignity of every human being?
We commit to our lifelong formation as disciples of Christ with a resounding, I will, with God’s help.
Our lifelong forming into the royal priesthood of all believers includes education, worship, prayer, fellowship, mission, and stewardship.
